The Gold Coast holds a steady lineup of public events each year. You’ll find fireworks, live music, racing, and community festivals across every season. These are some of the key dates to keep in mind for 2025 and beyond.
Gold Coast Marathon
📅 6 Jul 2025Each winter, thousands of runners take part in the Gold Coast Marathon. The route follows the coast and passes through Southport and Main Beach. There are shorter events as well, including fun runs and junior races.
Gold Coast Offshore Superboat Grand Prix
📅 25 July 2025 – Southport Yacht ClubThis annual boat race brings high-speed offshore powerboats to the Broadwater. The race can be seen from several points near the shoreline, including Broadwater Parklands.
Gold Coast Show
📅 29 to 31 August 2025 – Broadwater ParklandsThe Gold Coast Show features rides, food stalls, live performances and animal exhibits. It’s a family event with a long history, held close to the apartment in Southport.
Pacific Airshow
📅 15 to 17 August 2025 – Surfers Paradise BeachAerial displays take over the sky at the Pacific Airshow. Aircraft perform flight stunts and formations along the Surfers Paradise coastline. It draws a large crowd and runs for several days.
Promiseland Festival
📅 4 October 2025 – Doug Jennings Park, Main BeachPromiseland brings music and performance together in an outdoor festival setting. The lineup includes international artists and a mix of genres. It’s held by the water at Doug Jennings Park.
Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500
📅 24 to 26 October 2025 – Surfers ParadiseThis is one of the Gold Coast’s biggest annual events. Supercars race through the streets of Surfers Paradise on a temporary circuit. Off-track entertainment and music are part of the weekend.
Groundwater Country Music Festival

Christmas Carols – Broadwater Parklands

Seafire – Surfers Paradise
📅 31 May 2025Surfers Paradise hosts Seafire, a popular beachfront fireworks event. Teams compete with timed displays set to music. It’s a lively night by the water and one of the city’s signature events.
